lorenz began his career as a background singer for mariah carey's first promotional tour. since then he would go on to release two albums and become one of the most renowned and loved background vocalist in the business. his debut self-titled debut album was released in 1992 and although critically acclaimed it failed to launch his solo career. the album contained several written and produced by the divine miss m. including this song, which peaked at #19 on the hot 100. the song was followed up by the lackluster photographs of mary. i am sure wipe all my tears away would have faired better at radio. his success probably would have continued. if you have not checked out the album, do yourself a favor and do so, it is 90's r&b at it's best.
