I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF POSTING THIS YEAR'S TOP 25 SONGS WHEN I GOT WORD OF THE NEWS. SO I WAITED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR WAITING FOR ANY CONFIRMATION. I GOT IT AND IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT I AM HAVING TO POST THIS. IT HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED THAT R&B LEGEND AND ONE OF MY FAVE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME TEENA MARIE HAS PASSED AWAY. WITH TEARS IN MY EYES AND UTTER PAIN IN MY HEART THAT I TOAST THIS DRINK TO LADY T. YOU WILL BE MISSED BABY!

This hurts. My heart hurts hearing this. She had a voice like no other. So many songs, and emotions are going through my head. This is a sad sad day. I'm thankful I was able to see her in concert about 13 years ago in Detroit. God Bless, my thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
She was a pioneer and an inspiration. Although I'm not familiar with her entire body of work, I do recognize her contributions to music were huge. She broke barriers and that is inspiring to see. Her story will live on. It is sad to know that she's gone. :(
